During Term 1, Norfolk Island Central School holds its annual swimming carnival in the pristine waters of Emily Bay at Kingston.
Students participate in a wide range of activities including swimming races and novelty events. Races are hotly contested between the three sporting houses - Norfolk, Nepean and Phillip.
A large crowd of spectators always attend to encourage students in their efforts to help their house win the trophy.
